Honoring My Mother

It was two years ago today that I lost my best friend and beautiful mother to breast cancer.  I cannot believe that it has been two years...it honestly feels like just yesterday that she was here and I was talking to her.

My mom was an amazing woman.  Before her RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis-which she also suffered from) became to severe my mom loved doing crafts. She was always making something with paper mache, cross stitching, knitting or painting something new.  She always loved watching the Carol Duvall show.  I would come home from school and she would be watching it telling me all these things she had learned.

It wasn't until I became a stay at home mom that I realized I had the crafting ability and should find something to do to earn a some money.  I have another business that I started back in 2009 called Pink Hippo Party.  I design party invitations and decoration that you can print at home and make yourself.  It has been a lot of fun and gave me a creative outlet.

Before my mom passed away I started making my daughter clothes. Just simple little things that didn't overwhelm me.  It was something that I wasn't sure I was really that interested and then my mom passed and it honestly become very therapeutic for me. My mom had left me all of her sewing supplies and sewing baskets so I feel like I have a piece of her with me when I am in here working.

Although we are only now opening up this has been an idea of mine since a few months after my mom passed away. It has been 2 years in the making but I am finally in a place where I am ready move forward.  This is my way of celebrating my mother and sharing a little piece of her with all of you.

I will be offering a wide variety of children's clothing and accessories.  As I start this process if there is anything you do not see that you wish I had please let me know and I will try very hard to see about making them for you.

I am honored to open Sew Heavenly Designs today in loving memory of my mother Carol Ann Campbell. She is the most beautiful angel and I know she is watching over me.
